German Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen, which takes place more than 150 markets around the world and produces vehicles in more than 50 locations in 14 countries, announced its “Project Trinity” plan on March 5th.
Presenting the first design preview, Volkswagen plans to start the production of the vehicle in 2026. The electrically operated sedan model will be produced in Wolfsburg, Germany. This project is expected to set new standards in terms of range, charging rate and digitalization.
Volkswagen is working on software features that can be purchased with an extra payment and planning a system where users can add functions whenever they want, through the digital ecosystem in the electric sedan, described by CEO Ralf Brandstätter as "our software dream vehicle".
The project name of the "Trinity" derives from the Latin "Trinitas" and represents the triad. Trinity represents three important details: Having a newly developed electronic platform with a state-of-the-art software, simplification of the supply structure, fully connected and intelligent production at the main factory in Wolfsburg.
